DAN PATLANSKY   Definitely one of South Africa’s musical jewels, local blues musician, Dan Patlansky has been setting a hardy pace for himself in 2008. Following a thorough tour of the country earlier this year, he has spent little time resting and will soon hit the road again. If you are a fan of not only the blues, but of just good solid live music and talent, you would be hard done by to miss Dan Patlansky as he sweeps through a town near you. Fans of the legendary Fender guitars and amplifiers can also look forward to a treat as one of the countries most highly rated musicians brings his Fender gear along for the trip! Typically, Dan will tour with his 1962 Fender Strat along with a Re-issue 59' Fender Bassman loaded with "Blue Groove Tubes" for his now-legend tone. Often, he may have a few other Fender treats in his live arsenal. Dan Patlansky’s calendar is looking rather full for the rest of the year, so check out his website at http://www.danpatlansky.com for details on shows spanning the land from “dorpies” like Gordons Bay and Witrivier, all the way to the cities and big festivals such as Oppikoppie…

THEO CROUS (Springbok Nude Girls & KOBUS)   Long time Fender endorsees, The Springbok Nude Girls, are one of those bands who refuse to pass over into legend, but to remain very much a force on the scene. After countless “final performances” we have just had to come to accept that these guys still have too much to offer. Although most members have set off in pursuit of solo careers in music, or other angles of the industry with which they are so well acquainted, the 5 will always answer to the calling and regroup for “the next big show” or…               …the next big album? Rumor has it that later this year, work will begin on the next Springbok Nude Girls offering.   In the meantime, Theo Crous is pushing forward with his heavy metal, or rather, we should say: "swaar metaal" project, KOBUS.  Also reaching for international territories, KOBUS are presently in Germany playing the massive Magic Circle festival alongside heavy metal giants such as Manowar, Whitesnake, Alice Cooper, WASP, and the likes thereof.  Well done, guys!

FEVERTREE   There can be no doubt that Fevertree is one of the most successful contemporary rock bands to come out of South Africa this side of the millennium. With an impressive resume including performances alongside international acts such as 3 Doors Down, Staind, Evanescence and Hoobastank, this band has also attracted interest from huge corporate brands such as VW and SonyEriccson. Fender is proud to have been a big part of the journey and is looking forward to seeing how Fevertree, now re-located to the UK, continues on the quest for world domination!
